Exhibit
Features Local Artist Lori McIntosh Photography and Special Pet
Portrait Promotion
Los Gatos, CA March 1, 2010—The Whole Pet Vet, the
South Bay Area’s first integrative family pet hospital and wellness center,
today announced a Spring Open House event which will feature a Fine Arts
Pet Portrait exhibit held on Saturday, March 20th, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at
its clinic, 325 Los Gatos Saratoga Road in Los Gatos. The Whole Pet Vet Hospital
and Wellness Center will open its doors to the community to tour its state-of-the
art facility and view the new art exhibition from local artist Lori McIntosh
Photography.
“We’re thrilled to host Lori McIntosh’s extraordinary
new Fine Arts Pet Portrait exhibition as well as give the community another
opportunity to tour our facility and get an up-close demonstration of our
state-of-the-art equipment and stress-free, relaxing environment,” said
Dr. Hilary Wheeler, The Whole Pet Vet owner and leading veterinarian.
“Lori McIntosh offers a beautiful balance between professional photography
in stunning locations and brilliant lighting techniques with a fun, relaxed
atmosphere that eases the animal so she can naturally capture the human-animal
bond,” adds Dr. Wheeler.
Wheeler and McIntosh share a common philosophy when
working with animals. Each prioritizes the animal’s state-of- mind by providing
a comfortable, non-threatening environment and easing into a friendly relationship
with the animal through positive methods before working with the animal.
For example, The Whole Pet Vet Hospital and Wellness Center balances its
modern medical equipment with quiet treatment rooms with frosted glass
for natural light in a relaxing, serene environment for pets and people
to feel at home. “Lori’s
artwork is a perfect representation of our philosophy as well as the style
of our hospital,” said Dr. Wheeler. Both Wheeler and McIntosh use lighting
techniques to create relaxation and artistic expression.
“I’m excited to be partnering with The Whole Pet
Vet for its Open House event,” says Lori McIntosh, “I grew up around horses
and I’m an animal enthusiast. Dr. Wheeler and I share the same perspective
in terms of wellness and disease prevention. But we also share the philosophy
of providing a relaxed environment for animals to feel comfortable in while
we work.” McIntosh will offer
a promotional discount of $300 off a regularly priced $400 photo shoot for
guests who schedule a photo shoot at The Whole Pet Vet’s open house.
The Whole Pet Vet will provide dog and cat goodie bags.
In addition to hosting an exhibit of Fine Arts Pet
Portraits from Lori McIntosh, local business partners in the pet industry
will also join the open house to meet community members including The Pooch
Hotel, Dogs Dig Green, Heavenly Greens, Pet People, Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary,
Bow Wowzer/Purrsnickety and
Society Dogs who will have their bus parked at The Whole Pet Vet with activities
for dogs and people.
